About Me
Hi, I'm Shannon, a licensed clinical social worker and ordained minister. I'm passionate about seeing, knowing, and realizing the sacred worth of all people.
I believe we are relational by nature and that we are always in process. Every experience, including the painful ones, can become an opportunity to learn and grow. My role is to create a non-judgmental space where you can show up as you are, work on your goals, and be met with compassion and support.
I help clients identify and use the resources within their own lives, including personal, family, community, faith or spirituality, professional, intellectual, and social. People of all faiths, beliefs, gender identities, backgrounds, and orientations are welcome here. I am here to support each person in more fully becoming who they were created to be.
After seminary, I began my career as a Director of Children and Youth Ministries. I went on to earn my MSW from University of Michigan and realized my passion during my post-graduate fellowship year at the Pastoral Counseling and Education Center, where I stayed on as a staff member. My Play Therapy Certificate from Antioch University in Seattle gave me additional tools for working with children and families, including my own. I've experienced firsthand the value of positive parenting, authentic connection, and ongoing personal growth in a healthy, satisfying, and joyful life.
Through the Animal Assisted Counseling Academy at Texas State University, I'm trained to include my dog Maggie as a co-therapist some days. We make a great team!
I value family, connection, and self-development. I'm always learning new skills, seeking whole-body wellness, and approaching life with curiosity and gratitude. Outside the office, you'll find me with a podcast or audiobook, playing with my family and friends, and working on DIY projects.
